W.O.W

W.O.W what an extravagant night!

Name of show: W.O.W (world of wearable arts)

Venue: TSB Arena

Duration: 2hrs

We gathered at the entrance, watching people wide-eyed and full of life wondering what’s going to be in store for them. There was our own runway leading into the Arena aliened with fake fruit lit up to be seen by all. We took our seats in the sold out arena, and heard the loud chatter of the awaiting crowd. I felt like I was entering the world of the unknown, the world of wearable arts. The thing that stood out to me the most was not necessarily the costumes but the technical side of things; I believe this is what gave it that entertainment factor. The way they transitioned from scene to scene was amazing in itself. The stage first opened with a woman hanging up washing, the background was aliened with rows of white sheets, this then formed into a pirate ship to set the scene for the children’s section of the night. A variety of different things came from the roof whether it was a giant birds nest to fake vines and disco balls, this shows that you don’t always have to set the scene on ground. The thing that left me in surprise was in the children’s section when all the props on stage came to life and started dancing with the children, this just showed me even more that you never know what your going to expect from the show.

The cerography was amazing, to get heaps of people on stage at the same time to move as one must have taken hard work and time to perfect, to have a fashion show and a show in one without any clashes is pure talent to me. The stage design was really good because in the end the whole show is about the costumes and what they are made out of. There were three parts of the stage where the models walked up and did there signature pose for that outfit, this allowed the audience from the two sides and middle to get a good view of the while costume.

This is defiantly a big budget show where the money was well worth it, people from all over the world come to see it and its worth every penny when you get people walking away saying WOW and they don’t have words to describe it, this really is a show you have to go and see to really believe it. I came into the show expecting brilliance I believe I got more than I ever expected. The whole show was like watching art move.
