Every year since 2003, Young & Hungry puts a call out to teachers in the Wellington region to nominate two passionate drama or English students to become Y&H Ambassadors. Ambassadors attend performances, learn about what goes on behind the scenes and deepen their knowledge and appreciation of the performing arts. In return they share their experience with their classmates and friends.
Aimed at year 12 or 13 Drama or English students, Young & Hungry take between 20-25 students to experience a range of Wellington-based performances across the year including at Circa Theatre, BATS and Toi Whakaari.
Applicants are assessed on their passion for theatre, interest in pursuing a career in the arts, academic standing and availability to commit to the programme schedule.
Nominees can be budding actors and playwrights or have an interest in costuming, set construction, lighting or sound design, stage management, directing or production or arts management. We are looking for passion for the performing arts!
Ambassadors can share their experiences in a creative medium of their choice; including written reviews, video, art etc across school and social channels.
Applications open on 10 February and close at 5pm on 7 March each year.
